According to the General Department of Taxation, 148 foreign suppliers have registered and paid taxes through the electronic portal with estimated revenue of more than VNĐ2.8 trillion (US$108.2 million) in the first quarter.
The southern province of Binh Duong plans to organise programmes to show
local companies how to pay their taxes online, officials said at a
regular meeting with local Japanese companies yesterday.
It has become mandatory since January 20 for e-commerce or social
network sellers to register their transactions in order to facilitate
tax collection.
The General Department of Taxation will enable up to 1,000 enterprises
in five provinces – Ha Noi, HCM City, Bac Ninh, Dong Nai and Nghe An -
to pay their tax online by the end of this year.
